Re: Phara's Salon

It's tricky, that last part. I think nearly all women have some inner conflict about it. I'm having it right now. I'm putting off this decision for later because time will allow me to... but only for so long. At some point a decision will need to be made. It's tempting for me now to think about moth...

oh hai. Whenever I come onto the boards... it's into the Salon that i feel safest posting in. Bizarre right? Ninja might have been one of the first "safe spaces" on the net but it's something about my fellow Ninjess that makes confessing and unleashing a torrent of words just a little bit...

Art Sale from friend Samoht Eel Leachim

My good good friend Samoht is doing a couple amazing things right now. He's quitting drinking, and he's banging out masterpieces on the daily. He's also struggling a bit right now, no phone or anything at the moment. You can buy his art (for way underprice) right now right here: https://www.facebook...

Re: Esther Perel: Desire in a long-term relationship

"looking at your partner from a comfortable distance".... desire going up when watching your partner "holding court"... "there's no neediness in desire" i love this and it's been something I struggled with ever since I became romantically active. I wonder if it's a pro...

Esther Perel: Desire in a long-term relationship

Take notes whether you are single or committed, this is good stuff. Her other talks are amazing as well. It has helped me understand relationships better and upped my ability to articulate what I knew through experience.

Re: "Fear of Succesful People"

I like this a lot. We get to redefine success to reflect what we actually desire, rather than the image of success that is presented to us, ever out of reach, keeping us dissatisfied with our lives. Be careful who and what you idolize or you may meet the same demise.

Re: Cultural Appropriation

I think the problems a lot of people have with SJW stuff is people throwing around terms like 'microagression' or have people constantly scouring any kind of statement for signs of racism, sexism, gender bias, ableism or any other kind of perceived bias or believe that censorship is fine as long as...

Re: Cultural Appropriation

Some interesting points Charmosa but how do you expand that beyond the scope of the immigrant American vs. Native American experience? I would say that with my personal sense of morality, it not really cool for members of a conquering group to be making fun or making light of the people it systemat...

Thank you! It's been fun making a podcast as someone who has stage fright. I have ideas and jokes and rants I'd like to say but my throat closes up in front of an audience like I'm allergic. Podcasting is intimate first and public later. I'm getting into listening to more so the recs in this thread ...
