First thoughts upon the first time I ever saw a pic of vocal chords:"Wow, my ex's genitals have finally made it to my favorite part of the Internet. I guess that was inevitable. Like Kai, Zev, Stanly Tweedle, and 790 trying to outrun Mantrid to the center of the universe in Lexx."

Lmao I've never seen vocal chords before..... Holy shit! Made me reference my favorite sci-fi series and my ex girlfriends ...... Flower in the same thought. Then again, since it was Lexx I shouldn't be too surprised. Btw, Lexx is the name of the scifi series, just in case I had to make that clear.

ROFL man these vocal chords stirring up all sorts of thoughts and emotions and nostalgia for this ninja. That vocal chord pic was like me taking a toke and just reflecting on life staring into space. All w a vocal chord pic!!

I'm not even high. I promise. I'm just really weird.

I was waiting for some to pop up who was a mixer or even a DJ. That takes talent.

Analogue desks are the only way you could record 48 channels in 2009 without spending a fucking mint.

And they are sexy af too.

48 channels? Live recording band and choir? Only recorded with a 8 channel rack before. Not possible live with that setup, since drums take up 7 of the channels.

We do have a 24 something mixer that we are reflecting about, but that will only mangle all the sound to one channel, and we cant have that..

Music problems.

Well the drums were in a soundproof booth next to the main studio feeding into the mixer and outputted via pro-tools allowing us to balance it. The main setup for the drums was two mics on the kick drums, one per symbol, and underside mic for the snare and another underside for the hi-hat, it was about 12 channels in all, for guitars and bass we tended to avoid using amps and feed into the mixer through the Direct Input Units. For vocals we used a different room that was walled off and the mixed down version was channeled into the same headphone unit as the mixers, (well except the mixer also heard the vocalist too) And it all ran back into Pro-Tools HD (we needed the HD version due to it allowing 128 Channels.)

The other studio we had down the hall which I never recorded was a Dolby TrueHD / DTS-HD MA 7.1 Studio for mixing ADR and recording Foley and Dubbing.

These days most things I do are on a much smaller scale at home (mainly due to lack of room)

I do ADR, Foley, Hardware Repair, Home Theatre Installations, primarily to build up a strong enough portfolio to apply at either Crytek or Ubisoft.

If I could pick any instrument to learn next, I would choose violin. But, just the sullen music...no high pitch hoedown nonsense.

Wait I have an answer for this question..

I played the Flute in Middle School and then Choir/Chorus in High School (even lettered in the damn thing, did you know you can letter in singing?) I was 1st Soprano, hitin them high notes...

Now nothing, but I can still play a flute if I had one, killed it when I did some work with some middle school students. The stuff we remember from childhood.

Once a hand drummer always a hand drummer. Breath for wind instruments is another question lol.

For real... All I got is a 6x8 room that's sound-proofed. The rest needs to be rented! :D

mu voice!! I'm not a great singer but good enough and I enjoy it. I'd rather sing with others as opposed to solo.

O_o that's a nice production station! I really need to invest in one of those keyboard stands... It just goes on lap for now.
