I am about to start shopping for a laptop and need help with which way to go...

1. I need it to help me with my business. Keep track of orders, customer contacts,

2. Something that holds a lot of memory.

3. Slim and light weight because I am going to have to travel back and forth with it.

4. Will also need it for going back to school.

5. Also in the process of writing a book.

HELP ME!?!

Budget? As long as you're not gaming or doing professional graphics work with it you should have no trouble finding something relatively cheap.

That's a huge difference, but between the two extremes...

Here's some at the upper end of your price rang on Amazon. The Asus is pretty nice for that price, but I'm sure it's more if you don't have Amazon Prime (worth it)... http://amzn.to/1XfGE8m

Better place to buy maybe
NewEgg: http://bit.ly/1Ygo7ah

Specialty sites you'll be hard pressed to find anything under a grand so you're better off going to Amazon or Newegg. I've seen people have decent luck with Acer, Asus, and MSI in particular. Toshiba isn't terrible either.
