Gwenno's crochet and crafts - finished

Postby Gwenno » Thu Apr 07, 2016 5:22 pm

My crochet and some other crafts. I've started to crochet around may 2014, I did learn as a girl, but stopped in my teens. I never made more then scarves and potholders, 1 felted plushie, but that's about it. As I'm not 100% healthy anymore and can not dance (salsa), sport or able to find a boss that will employ me, I needed to do something with myself besides fb gaming and reading. And I wanted to smoke less and eventually stop smoking. (still a smoker oops) Anyways, I'm trying to take pics now of what I have made and upload it so I can shoowcase here, where I feel safe.

Spoiler: show
My very first amigurumi that I made 2 years ago. It was my second project.

This one is very special, I started making it when I came back from my first hospital visit to my dad. I wanted to give him something, so I would be with him even when I wasn't there myself. I gave it to him at my next visit. He came home a few days when he had to wait for the surgery, and the mouse came home with him, and it was the first thing he packed when he went back to the hospital. When he was in a coma and when it was time to say goodbye for the last time, I put the mouse in his hand. The nurses left it there, and it went with him to the morgue, and to the mourning centre (I don't know the name in English) The mouse was placed on his chest, and stayed with him when the chest closed. The mouse never left him.

Dress, I finished it today!! No pic with me in it, that will follow later :)

Books and youtube, and I did crochet and knit as a child, so I was 'relearning' when I started crochet 2 yrs ago.
I developed the patience because I had to do something, at that point, I couldn't work, I couldn't dance any more and I wanted to smoke less. Still haven't quit smoking though. But when I crochet and want to do just one more row.... I smoke way less :p
Thanks for the compliments <3

amazing work, Gwenno!

The sewing them together kills me, I'm such a perfectionist! This pattern was horrible betw, bad instructions and a lot of steps missing, esp for a beginner (like I was) it was a pain in the....
I actually have another one that I wanted to make for a friend of Jesse, but that friendship dies. So that dragon is in pieces in a box. And I want to make it all, resulting in too many wips lol
