it's a combination of really great lighting (just lucky timing) and a Nikon lens. i swear by 'em. cannot tell you how many different cameras i've used since i started out, but the one consistent thing i have found is Nikon makes the best lenses, followed by Sigma.

I know the scale of the installation isn't clear but the building is affectionately known as the Jetsons building and mural covers the elevator shaft going all the way up to a round penthouse floor that has housed resturants, bars, gay bathhouse and god knows what else. The building sustained significant lower level water damage over the years due to HWY US 1 dumping feet of water around it but those issue have been addresses and it is generally known as the Citibank building now.

The artist John De Groot and I lived a few blocks apart the last few years he was alive. We meet because the fellow who did my heavy yard work rented the De Groots mother in law cottage. The yard man (Podge) was a crazy alcoholic but a great landscaper so if I needed him I'd have to pick him up there and a few times at the Degroot Tile Factory where all the tiles he used were fired. You know the mermaids and suns and all that sort of stuff you see in Florida pools? He did a significant number of those. He had a whole line of that stuff but the big building pieces were a passion for him.

If he were born today you can bet he'd be taging.

We passed a few activisty-looking Chicano kids at the park, one of whom had left sidewalk chalk art, and said it was cool for us to take a picture of it and post it. It doesn't compare to the rest of the stuff in here, but I liked the spontaneity of it.

Soooo, I always look out the trainwindow when entering and leaving the trainstation(Because I love all the graffiti :) ) , for this thread, I did try to take pics. These are the least crappy ones, the others I deleted, they were really horrible. I know, I'm late posting, but I'm lazy and they were on my phone.
